Pastoral Care at Eastern Shore Chapel

As a caring Christian community, the people of ESC support one another through life's celebrations and crises. Whether it is through the power of prayer, cooking meals, or visiting the homebound, volunteers joyfully serve through several ministries.

To learn more about how you can become involved in these ministries, please contact Debbie Quam. or call 428-6763.

Stephen Ministry

A program that equips lay persons to provide one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and community.

Parish Friends

Parish Friends teams are available to help families in our church at the time of a death in the family. They offer hospitality and organize receptions to follow funeral services.

Pastoral Care Companions

The companions provide visits and friendship for members of the congregation who are homebound or in nursing homes.

At ESC, laying on of hands and anointing for healing are available in the church each Sunday prior to the 8 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services. It is also available at the Thursday morning Eucharist.

Feed My Sheep

Members of this committee provide meals for parishioners who are ill, homebound, and families with a new baby.

Telephone Ministry

Members of this group minister to ESC members who are on the parish's long-term prayer list and those who live alone, are sick or in need. They provide a confidential listening ear to those no longer able to participate fully in the life of the parish.

Transportation

ESC's van service provides transportation to the 11:15 a.m. service (10 a.m. in summer) for seniors and the disabled.

Prayer Chain

Members of the prayer chain pray daily for ESC parishioners, their family members and friends who are in need of prayer.
